OUR VIDEOS

Introducing pastel, or woad, the crop and the final product which made Toulouse the “Land of Cockayne” in the 16th Century, and renewed interest in it today.

How Water tamed Man and inspired him to make the 500km (300 miles) of river basin one of France’s most beautiful valleys.

The birth and glory of a lateral canal already projectd by Riquet but not built until 150 years later. Together with the Canal du Midi it provides a wonderful link between the Atlantic Ocean and the Mediterranean Sea.
France’s first watershed canal, it remained in use until our times. With its metal canal-bridge – the longest in Europe – which spans the Loire, it has become an essential passage for European tourists travelling France’s rivers and canals.
A homage to Pierre-Paul Riquet, this film recounts the story of a madly ambitious project for its time, and invites us to discover a work of engineering now listed among humanity’s World Heritage sites.

After the Lot, the Garonne Canal and the Canal du Midi, the Baïse is another rare jewel among the navigable waters of the south-west of France, and “must” be discovered.
Early in the 9th century the news of the discovery, in Galicia, of the tomb of the Apostle James the Elder resounded like a thunderclap throught Europe. Compostella had burst into history !
